for some reason I've lost the ability to open a link in a new window .......the window will pop up but then it jsut stops working.... Cliking refresh wont work but oddly cliking the 'home' button will take the new window to the home site.  No web addy appears in the addy bar when I first try to open the new window and refreshing the window does nothing.......

I've tried 'fix explorer' ......tried reinstalling it.....reinstalled windoze.......am I missing some setting somewhere...????..........it WAS workign ....

Openin new window opens the window wiht the buttons up the top but nothign appears in the window no matter what I try......help please it's VERY annoying

If you copy and paste the link in the new window does it load then?
Do you get any error messages when you choose "open in new window"?

Does it work if you open in same window?

I've fixed it after a loooooooonnnnnng process of frustrating stuff
tried that regsver32 urlmon.dll but didn't help .....
tried reinstallign IE......didn't help
tried installing IE5.5 instead of IE6 didn't help
tried reinstallign windoze......didn't help

in the end I used IEradicate to remove IE then reinstalled windoze over itself after renaming win.com and explorer.exe...  well now it is working ........yahoo.....what a mission.....thanks for your efforts folks....you can have the points stevenlewis cause it was the closest answer as it was very relevant ....the knowledge base article certainly was on that particular subject....jsut didn't seem to help but thanks for trying....and updating my knowledge too.....
wow, that was a long journey. Glad you finally got it. thanks for the points, and glad I could at least update your knowledge
