Norton Antivirus 2004 Problems

I have recently installed a update from Norton Antivirus 2000 to Norton Antivirus 2004 on a computer, I am having probelms with the start up of the computer, The problem is that because during the install the installer failed to remove the the start up command for Norton Antivirus 2000, it now brings up a Windows Explorer windows pointing to 'C:\Program Files\Norton Antivirus' every time the computer starts, up which would not be a problem except that it now slows down the computer quite considerably and it also is very annoying, can any one help. Ive tried looking for the task that makes it start up in the startup folder and msconfig.exe but I cannot find it any where and im not sure why its even coming up. Thanks, Tom :)

Did you upgrade from 2000 to 2004 or just got the setup file for 2004 and installed it fully  without removing 2000 ?

Using msconfig ,did you try to disable all applications in the startup tab and tried rebooting the system ?

I just tried to do clean install of Nortons 2004 on a 98 machine and it was still a pain.  Caused me to format the computer and try it again.  Make sure all of the Windows Updates are downloaded as this helped me some.
