Explorer has caused an error in INEB.dll ???

Help!  I am running Windows ME on Compaq Presario.  All programs working except Windows Explorer.  When I try to open it, I get, "Exlporer has caused an error in INEB.DLL Explorer will now close.  If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer."  I can't find any information on INEB.DLL  Any idea what this is and what caused it?  I can't open "my computer" or "accessories" or anything to even run a scan disk.

Please help if you can!  Thanks!

Hi,
Please try to find this file in your PC by using the find ommand in start menu. After you have found it, right click on it, select properties and select the version tab from above. Please write the description and informations on this file.

Hello All,

My first post here, and not an expert at all with this, (yet)!

I am experiencing the INEB.DLL problem at the moment, and though I have done all I can find online to remove it, I cannot rectify the problem.

I run WinME on a Pentium3/450.

I cannot access any of my files in any way.
I downloaded the DOS boot, and recorded a floppy; the computer ignores it and starts up in ME in the usual way.
I have gone through the 'safe mode', that does not work - in all cases I still get that same error message at the end of what I try to do.

I also tried the trend free scan, I got a message box saying it could not start its engine to scan my computer.

Any new ideas as to how I can find the path of INEB.DLL in Windows\System ?

Thanks in anticpation,

Keven.
use
dir /s ineb.dll
from dos mode

btw you need to ask a new question..
go into the top left and click "ask your question"
then post a new thread.. this way people will see and answer your question.. ur lucky i didnt unsubscribe
and to boot from the floppy disk change your bios settings..
there should be a bios setting to choose primary boot device or boot order
Thanks sh0e !

Keven.
I am a computer tech. Recently I came upon this ineb.dll problem. Everytime I tried to access My Computer or open Control Panel in Windows ME the ineb.dll problem came up.

If you are not afraid to edit the registry... try this

1. Go to RUN...
2. type the word... REGEDIT
3. Go to the File Menu and scroll down the EDIT MENU
4. It contains the selection FIND
5. When the FIND dialogue box appears type INEB.DLL
6. This will search for the ineb.dll file in the registry
7. When it finds a value... will read something like
C:\WINDOWS\SYS... just SIMPLY DELETE the value
8. Press F3 to continue searching the registry for the next value where ineb.dll is found.
9. Keep searching and deleting the values that it stops on until the screen "FINISHED SEARCHING THE REGISTRY appears.
10. Then simply RESTART your system
11. I have tried this and since I am an advanced computer tech, trust me THIS WORKS. Try It!
a bit late.. no offense
anyways this thread happened before there was any real information on the ineb.dll spyware now widely circulated
your method is actually not a very good one.. and may not always work
in any case the best solution is to download a spyware detector/remover such as lavasoft adaware or spybot
and for the usual dont bother posting to a paq (previously answered questions)
it means that the problem has been resolved and needs no further comments (most of the time)
