Command line screen resolution changer
Does anybody know of a command line utility that will allow me to change screen resolution, color depth, and possibly even refresh rate?

I'm setting up my son's computer, and some of his games require the display be at 640x480 with 256 colors. I'd rather let the desktop be a higher resolution and color depth than this, so I was hoping to use batch files to switch the resolution temporarily for those games.

Any ideas?

You could use a little free utility like this one

MultiRes
http://www.entechtaiwan.com/

MultiRes (50kb) is a 32-bit alternative to QuickRes, which adds refresh rate and multi-monitor support, as well as optional timed confirmation prompts. The little utility supports Windows 9x/Me/NT4, as well as Windows 2000 and XP.

CrazyOne, multires is neat, but does not appear to be able to be run from the command line, so it won't work in a batch file.

War1, I just tried your suggestion. It works great! I didn't even think about rundll.
