Missing Control Panel Icons

Hi Guys,

After installing Netscape Navigator on a Windows ME system, ALL my icons from the C: drive & control panel disappear.
But, I can still see the files and icons in C: Drive when I use windows explorer though.

Any suggestions?

Any help will be deeply appreciated. :)

Anyone? :(
Try to revert system to the state before  you installed Netscape.
Run -->  scanreg /restore
and select Windows Registry backup file with  the date before Netscape has being installed on your PC.
(FYI  WinME will keep only five registry backups in database unless you edit scanreg.ini file and increase the number of files  . SO HURRY UP and restore previous backup ! )

Once you've restgore registry see if your CPL icons are fixed.
If not   downbload  Microsoft TweakUI 133 for Win ME
http://www.microsoft.com/NTWorkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp      and run ICON REAPIR tool.

good luck

Hi nedvis, I had tried the both your suggestions before posting  here.

As I am unable to see the icons in the control panel, i.e I cannot access tweakUI.
Is there a way to run tweakui from the RUN dialog box?
Kindly advise.
Thank you. :)
nope...........use the 'system restore' function it's located in startbutton/programs/accessories/system tools.............
