upgrade from NT to 2000 domain
Hello
I have a Windows NT 4.0 domain that I want to upgraded to a Windows 2000 domain. We have two domain controllers right now one of which, the PDC, is an older server that I want to replace with new hardware.
Is it possible to install windows 2000 as a member server to my current domain, then run dcpromo then promote that server to a PDC and demote my current PDC down to a BDC and remote it from the domain?
Is there any other way to upgrade to a 2000 domain without installing NT on my new server then upgrading the OS.? I have never found these windows OS upgraded to be very stable.
