IE Relaunches

I just installed Office 2000 SP3.

Now when I click on a URL in Outlook a new IE window is launched instead of re-using an existing IE instance.

Do you know how I can switch it back?

Open the Internet control panel, click the advanced tab, find the setting "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts", check it and say ok.

I just tried it, and there is no difference.
Once you apply the changes, you need to restart Internet Explorer.
Still no change.
I have increased the points.

Does anyone have any more ideas?
Check the permissions of these registry settings and make sure you have read and write permisssions:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-220523388-813497703-1957994488-1003\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Desktop\Components\GeneralFlags

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-220523388-813497703-1957994488-1003\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\AllowWindowReuse

Also check this registry key, make sure it's set to 1 and the permissions are set correctly:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\AllowWindowReuse
I found this, it says it's for win 2k, it appears to be the same on my xp machine:

I thought that you were onto something with that last one but it turns out that my settings in this area are fine ('%1',,'-1,0,,,,).

I haven't checked your registry settings yet.
One day, it just started working properly.

I expect that I needed to reboot after the changes.

Since this is the only change that I actually made - I can only suspect that this was the answer.

I'll only give you a B because your didn't suggest to reboot.

You should receive a nice lot of points anyway.

Thanks for your help.
