XP Pro always recovers from "serious error"
I have xp pro (only recently installed), every time I boot up now I get the "this machine has recovered from a serious error" dialog. Viewing the details tells me that the suspect file is "C:\documents~\myname\loca ls~\temp\w er.tmp.dir 00\sysdata .xml".
Every now and then the "wer" will change to "wer01" or "02".
If I go into the temp folder to find the suspect file, it wont be there, I can only find it if the file has changed names from wer to wer01 or wer02 as it does from time to time.
I've opened up a wer01 file and found many references to drivers and the like.
P.s I may have the tildes in the wrong place in the file location above.
I can usually work these sorts of problems out but this one really has me stumped.
Any ideas.

Colj,
This is a known issue with XP. Do a windows update, get all the critical ones, and you should be fine. Actually this was fixed with SP1 for XP. Are you running at the SP1 level?

You can get SP1 here --->>>
