Create new folder type templates in WinXP?

I like XP's "folder type" templates in XP, but I would like to set up my own since I have some files that don't fit conveniently into the Pictures / Music / Videos category.

Specifically, I would like to be able to set up a folder type for my source code that will:
--Remember the folder icon type (OK, I know this is possible on a folder by folder basis, and it is just eye candy, but I still want it).
--Remember additional "detail" fields I have added to detail view.  These are CVS fields courtesy TortoiseCVS, very similar to the digital camera type or music information fields, they appear in the More... list when Tortoise has been loaded.
--Allow me, just like the templates that are built in, to select a folder and all it's subfolders to be this type.

Is that beyond what XP can do?  I have been searching and can't find anywhere that anyone is even asking about this--is it something obvious I've missed?

:(
I tried looking through shell32 with Resource Hacker and found where the template names are, but can't see any easy way of editing them :(
Thanks for trying anyway.  I suppose it's better this way... if MS *did* allow custom templates then no doubt someone would figure out how to exploit a flaw in *that* cdoe to make my folders all link to p0rn sites or spam my friends....
