Where can find the Product Keys for my important programs? Need to reinstall after formatting harddisk.
Normally Product Keys and Serial Numbers come with the major programs.
They did for me. Â Now I have misplaced some PK and SNs.
I want to do a clean re-install of my XP-Pro operating system. Â If I do I will lose some of the main programs because while I have the install disk I don't have the Product Key or Serial Number necessary.
Can I look through the registry before I format the drive and find the keys and/or serial numbers?
At the least, where would I start looking to find this info?

The registry is also a good source, but sometimes they will encrypt the information. BTW I just checked my COREL applications. They also post the registration number in the HELP ABOUT dialog. My guess is that you'll find that to be true for most applications.

Microsoft Windows XP is the sixth release of the NT series of operating systems, and was the first to be marketed in a variety of editions: XP Home and XP Professional, designed for business and power users. The advanced features in XP Professional are generally disabled in Home Edition, but are there and can be activated. There were two 64-bit editions, an embedded edition and a tablet edition.
