fair...not fare. :)

Fatal Exception...If you read this I suggest you post a comparison of XP vs. W2K RC to get the points. :)
Actually I think Stardotstar is giving FE points for helping out in this question

Stardotstar next time if you want to do this all you need to do is make your question say Points for such and such and then post the link to question like I just did. :)

Thanks, you are accurate in my intent, did not realize it would upset anyone.
Thank you for your kind gesture. I'll wait for the moderator to make a decision. :)
You answered the question, you get the points.
Stardotstar,

Gemarti is so nice that he wanted to justify to all whether your points to him was justifiable or not ..
Anyway you may want to follow this thread

Thanks,

PashaMod,

The intent was a new question, for fatal exception.  As I have seen done in the past, but apparently not this way, I wanted to award him also for his assistance to another question that I had asked, by dedicating a question to him for answering.  The original question was extensive.

I apparently did not do this correctly, and gemarti has brought that out.  I have awarded the points to gemarti, and continue to thank all of the experts on this forum for their help.

Again, I only meant to show my grattitude to fatal exception, for his assistance by posting a question that he could address.  I'm sorry that it was done wrong and did not set well with others.

Stardotstar,

Thanks for clarifying .. I need not comment on this as I am not involved but wanted to assist resolving this issue..
As you might know if you want to award points to an expert , you can basically do what gemarti has suggested . ie

in the body of the question say "points for fatal_exception" and donot forgot to give the link in that question so that
mods and other experts donot suspect that you are simply giving points..

Also one more suggestion. If you have done a small typo error , post that in CS so that mods can change it

Have a nice nite ahead !!
Thanks,
Sunray
Would you all look at the following two comments that Stardotstar and I posted pretty early in this fiasco. it explains it all. Why was a moderator brought on this and why all the unneeded comments. Geeesh if everybody would have paid attention to the following two comments then there would be no need for any other comments afterword. Pasha please change the title to "Points for Fatal_Exception" and If if may suggest delete all other comments and edit Stardotstar original statement to just say

For your assistcance in this question

PS. you all are dumping on one of the sites users that is very good at staying in touch with the experts and supplying very good feedback and look at how well Stardotstar stays on top of Stardotstar's questions and closes them out and look at the grading history. There aren't two many excellent users of this site like Stardotstar so lets not do things that may push them away from using EE. You got my vote!
OMG, I certainly did not mean to start this.  I will take ALL the blame here.  Stardotstar asked if there was some way to award me points for staying with him on the previous issue, and I mentioned that there was (read my comments), but with the caveat that I was not too sure on the proper procedures.  He followed my advice and my advice was obviously incorrect.

Star, I am the one who should apologize here.  No need for any of the members to be upset with you!  Accept my apologies.

As for the points, yes, I love to receive them, but to be honest, I do this more for the enjoyment of helping others.  As long as I make my premium service points each month, I will be very happy.

To all those who have participated in this thread, please just focus on the coming Holiday Season and enjoy the moment.

Merry Xmas (or whatever your faith may allow) to everyone!
