  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. cannot delete : it is being used by another person or program

Hi

i am running windows XP
i am trying to delete and move a couple of folders and files.
i get this error message.

Cannot delete [Folder Name]: it is being used by another person or program
close any programs that might be using the file and try again.

The point is no other program is using the files / folders. i have restarted the comp so many times , shutdoen the antivirus but nothing seems to be working. i need to free up hard disk space.

has nayone faced the same problems before ?
