XP install cannot format the Hard disk or install xp
This is a XP Pro install on a celeron 733 128mg ram, when I format the H/d on another system then run the instilation I get errors copying the files from the cd so used a brand new CD.
I Try formating the h/d during the install process both quick and normal, and it says the hard disk cannot be formatted, 3 seperate hard disks 1 brand new 40 Gig all say the same
tried different cables 40 and 80 wire
different drive and slave configurations ie H/d as master on IDE 1 and CD rom as Master on IDE2
H/D as Master on IDE1 CD as Slave on IDE1 etc
same problem
sounds like a M/B issue any have any ideas

no probs , first time I seen that prob it took me an hour of mucking around before I swaped the ram, :)
