MULTIPLE PROFILES AND THE SHARING OF ONE APPLICATION

Hello,

I have a user that would like to set up multiple profiles on his Windows XP machine which is a stand-alone system.  He would like to install software for this machine for all profiles to use but does not want to place the program in the Share folder.  Is there a way that he could have all profiles use this application on all profiles without it being in the Shared folder?

This was the actual question that was submitted to me:
***************************************
"He wants to be able to set up one workstation with multiple user profiles that will all access the same Point folders (data, template, and winpoint).  And, he believes that he shouldn't have to put his folders in the Shared Documents folder in order to accomplish this."

Is there a work around for this?  Your expedited responses are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Another approach is to:
1) login as administrator
2) from Explorer, tools -> folder options -> view -> select "show hidden folders and files"
3) delete all profiles except for administrators, default user, all users, localservice and network service.
4) create a "test" account, give it admin rights
5) install all software while logged in as administrator
6) log in as "test" account and copy the administrator profile to the default user profile
7) when users log in, they will have the correct settings and can access them by launching them from their usual locations, not the shared folder.

We use this approach at my site before ghost imaging machines so that all users see the same config that we do when we set it up.
