pagefile.sys - where to put it
Hi Experts
I have 3 disks.
250gb SATA 7200rpm 16mb cache
This is the boot drive and hold win xp + all programs.
40gb IDE100 7200rpm 2mb cache - Primary IDE channel
Does not do much now
20gb IDE100 5500rmp 2mb cache - secondary
Does-not not do much
All drives have a lot of free space.
What is the best drive (for perfomance) to put the pagefile.sys on?
or is it best to split it?
Dave

I would split it - Windows supposedly uses the page files on drives with the lowest average usage.

I missed to mention that use the STRIPED VOlume to host the PAgefile. The performance of Pagefile directly influences the PCs performance specially in low Memory configs like less than 512 MB.

Hi
Thank you for the advice, I put a system managed page file on each disk to let the system manage it.
I may play at a later stage. But I figure that I will not be able to tell any difference :-)
