"Security Settings Prohibit Running ActiveX Controls On This Page"

Asked by Gary56 in Windows XP Operating System

Tags: activex, prohibit, running, security, settings

I've encountered this problem only after installing SP2 on my PC. The only program this is really affecting is EastBay Technologies "CTube!" The program opens up fine but when I try to view a channel I get the error "Your Current Security Settings Prohibit Running ActiveX Controls On this Page. As A Result The Page May Not Display Correctly". I've uninstalled both Norton Systemworks & ZoneLabs Security Suite & still get the same error message. I've gone into Windows (SP2) Security Settings & disabled all. I've gone into "Internet Options" Security settings & enabled ActiveX settings. I'm running the latest Sun Java.
I may occassionally see this error message opening an e-mail "Incredimail" but it doesn't affect the display. In CTube! when I try to view a channel I receive the above error & then a blank screen. I've contacted EastBayTechnologies & they're as baffled as I am. I'd swear that the problem lies w/XP SP2 Security but can't find any other settings to change. Please HELP!!
Many thanks to all who attempt this solution, Gary.Start Free Trial
