Dual Boot Option - One OS installed

Asked by bmulcahy-07 in Windows XP Operating System

I have a user in my office who reinstalled the OS on their XP Home machine some time ago (Don't ask why we're using XP Home in an office, they purchased these machines before I started working here). Anyway, his PC evidently prompts him for a dual boot choice between two copies of XP Home, while only one is installed. I would think that him reinstalling the OS via the Windows disk would have gotten rid of any references to the old installation of the OS (clearing of partitions, NTFS Formatting). Any ideas on why this is happening? Is there a way to remedy this situation without reinstalling? It's more of an annoyance than anything, but I'd like to be able to take care of it.

Thanks,
