I have a few WinXP Pro and Win2k workstations that upon logging in will open up a folder view of C:\Program Files\Symantec  I have looked in the startup setting but have not found where this is comming from. Any ideas on how  track this down?

See if disabling the vptray.exe entry helps

vptray                        C:\Program Files\Symantec Client\vptray.exe

One reference found here:

Symantec folder opens automatically after installing Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.x and restarting:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/529c2f9adcf33a1088256e22005026f1/e6d358ea8614c7b388256ec50068a990?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam
Umm, I see that it's already formatted in LFN.
