Greetings, jaburmester!

You should not have posted the log here, just a link to the anaylsis of the log.  I have done that for you

http://www.hijackthis.de/logfiles/ebc59faa4d33eb6b2aea772f2cf65603.html

The analysed log shows that you have one "Nasty" and a couple of "Possibly Nasty".  Delete them with your HijackThis program.

Cheers!

Hi war1,

I have looked at your comments and found none of the files you state Nasty or Possibly Nasty as they are all programs I use.

I still have the problem that every time I turn on my laptop, the following appears :

C:\WINDOWS\INSTAL~1\(AC7^B~1\SC_ACR~1.EXE
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. CS:0f29 IP:01be OP:ff ff 00 00 Choose 'Close' to terminate the aplication.

Please note the illegal instrauction (CS:0f29 IP:01be OP:ff ff 00 00) is not always the same.

Also I have enabled to see all files but I can only see the file SC_ACR~1.EXE through a DOS session.

Please can you or somone help as to how stop this message.

Thank you for any help.
Look in the win.ini file and see if there is a SC_ACR~1.EXE.  Backup the file and delete any line with SC_ACR~1.EXE.
Win.ini dose not contain SC_ACR~1.EXE.

Any other help ?
Check the Config.nt and Autoexec.nt files in the SystemRoot%\System32 folder for SC_ACR~1.EXE.

Use a REM statement to remark out all entries with SC_ACR~1.EXE. Do not remove these default settings.

   Config.nt
   ---------
   dos=high, umb
   device=%SystemRoot%\System32\Himem.sys
   files=20

   Autoexec.nt
   -----------

   lh %SystemRoot%\System32\Mscdexnt.exe
   lh %SystemRoot%\System32\Redir
   lh %SystemRoot%\System32\Dosx
   lh %SystemRoot%\System32\Nw16 (only if CSNW is installed)
   lh %SystemRoot%\System32\Vwipxspx (only if CSNW is installed)

If no joy, run Autoruns

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html

See if there are any startup programs that you are not familiar with. Disable them.
No joy even with Autoruns.

There seem to be no unfamiliar programs at startup.

Anything else someone can suggest ?

jaburmester,

Thanks for the points. Why the C?  Did my suggestions answer your question?  Do you have anymore questions?  Here is EE Grading Guidelines:

https://www.experts-exchange.com/help.jsp#hi73

C: Because Experts' reliability are often judged by their grading records, many Experts would like the opportunity to clarify if you have questions about their solutions. If you have given the Expert(s) ample time to respond to your clarification posts and you have responded to each of their posts providing requested information; or if the answers, after clarification, lack finality or do not completely address the issue presented, then a "C" grade is an option. You also have the option here of just asking Community Support to delete the question.

Remember, the Expert helping you today is probably going to be helping you next time you post a question. Give them a fair chance to earn an 'Excellent!' grade and they'll provide you with some amazing support. It's also true that a "C" is the lowest grade you can give, and the Experts know that -- so use it judiciously.
