How to exit a program from a command prompt
How do I exit a running program from a command prompt (cmd) in windows xp? I want to use the simplest way possible. I know I can kill the program, but I want to exit normally the program. An example is a scheduled backup script where I want to exit programs (such as outlook) before the program runs.
Thanks!
Thanks!
normally it runs in its window - just click the red cross in the right upper corner.

No, I mean from a shell scipt such as a cmd file. Here is the logical things I want to do:
close outlook
close palm
start backup process
The only thing I don't know how to do is the close parts. I prefer to keep it simple as in a cmd shell script (batch file)
