Reboot takes very long time - The Active Directory is rebuilding indices

Hi!

I did a controlled reboot after the WTS-session had stalled. When the server is booting up again, it stops and gives the following message:

"The Active Directory is rebuilding indices. Please wait..."

I have done this for 26 hours, but nothing is happening. The server is a DC for 11 people, so I cannot imagine that the AD is of any size. The server uses 2 disks in a HW mirroring configuration.

When I checked EE, I found a similar topic where the advice was to waint until the rebuild had finished. Is this the best thing I can do?

Try to check the drive as well using on the disk checker from hdd manufacturer, to see if there is any damage or error on the disk.

Hi!

I couldn't get to the startup-menu - options when pressing F8, so i had to modify boot.ini to make this work. I then installed recovery console and ran checkdisk, but to no avail. I the started the boot process witH the LKGC
and it came ut normally againg. Problem solved.
