Browse All TopicsI am looking for a way to get a list of new business applications that have a specific word in the business name. For example:
All new business filings in the last three months for Los Angeles, California that have the words credit repair in the business name.
Is there an easy way to do this? I'm sure there is, as we get all those merchant account flyers whenever we file for a new dba or business. However, where is this list. Are these records publicly available or searchable online? I'm open to paying for a service if there is one that is reasonable. Any suggestions?

codefaze,
In general, new businesses are required to register with the state and/or with the county/city/town in which they will be doing business. Because every one of these provides data in different formats, it can be hard to provide a specific source - which is, in large part, why the brokers who compile these types of lists can make money. InfoUSA (http://www.infousa.com) is one of the better-known brokers.
Another good source, if you are looking for localized lists, is Chambers of Commerce. They generally have a good handle on new businesses, and can guide you to where to get more information for their area.
Cheers,
