Hi Everybody,
I am having major issues with Sony PS3 and its Media Server. To be honest I think that it is on my PC's side.
I want to stream the video and music from my PC to my PS3, but every time I cannot see the PS3 in Windows Media Player to allow it access. Every time I try to find the Windows media server from the PS3 it says "no media servers were found"
The two devices are connected to via LAN cable to router as below
Desktop:
Win XP SP2
Static IP Address
Router (Buffalo WHR-G54S)
Ports 3690 forwarded with PS3 IP address (for Win Media Server)
PS3
Static IP Address
I have tried this with different software, Nero, WMP11, TVersity etc etc. None will recognise the playstation.
For example in WMP11;
When I click on Options/Configure Sharing/Share my media nothing comes up where the PS3 should come up as an unknown device.
I have went through the playstation forums and everybody who experienced the same problem installed TVersity and resolved the issue. I tried the same...no joy. I have also tried all the other advice they have been given but again no joy.
I do not even have access to a laptop otherwise would try and do it from it to see if it was my desktop that was the problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been messing with this for a couple of weeks and am either going to pull my hair out or throw the PC out the window lol.
thanks very much
Dwayne
