Do you know, on your TI-66, how to do what I'd like?

Browse All TopicsThis is a programming question for the Texas Instruments "TI-83" graphics calculator.
(I hope the question is in the right place. There's no TI-83 programming language category for questions)
I wish to store the value of a variable in a string.
ie...
- Command
- Output
6.5-->C
6.5
C-->String1
6.5
The best I can do is...
- Command
- Output
6.5-->C
6.5
"C"-->String1
C
And ideally I would like to do this...
- Command
- Output
6.5-->C
6.5
"XYZ"-->String1
XYZ
String1+C-->String1
XYZ6.5
Thanks in advance

to convert a string to a number/equation you have to use the expr(string) command.
However, in this case you probably want to convert the variable "C" from a number to a string. To do that you will need to do Equ-> String(Yx, Strx).
You probably want to do:
Equ->String(C, Str2)
String1+ Str2
That would output XYZ6.5
Hope that helps
