Universe... Does it have a shape?

I have been wondering if the universe has some sort of shape... But i think im in Chess mate situation.
If universe started from a dot then its enlargement would mean its radius would only grow , but then i started thinking that there are at least 4 dimenssions. Widht ,Hight , Depth and Time... but there is no unit to even calculate time !!! that would mean that universe is shaped like 2-dimensional picture... But if im right thats impossible... Then i remembered that i had heard of a theory that sayd universe is like a balloon. it grows and grows... ( well its kinda rough... it loses something in translation .) .But as we all know this kind of stories are for under 10 years old. And now ,finaly , we come to the REAL question. What if we would not exist inside the ball? What if we are on the surface of it? This would explain a lot of universe , like Wormholes. Imagine a tube running trough a Ball. both exits reach the same surface so it wouldnt break any laws of physic. This would also explain the t.th dimension.The ball has Width ,Height and Depth , right? What if the 4.th dimension is inside of the ball , under the 3-dimensional surface of the ball , keepping it from collapsing ito a Wormhole? Could this theory have anything usefull or have i missed something really important?
