Cracking a code?

Asked by grg99 in Math & Science Questions

Tags: cracking, code

Let's say there's some function that maps integers from 1 to 5 million to a 6-byte code.  Here's a few examples:

0000001    28 18 3E 59 8D F2

1000000   1D 94 3E 59 E7 F1
1000001   6F C4 3E 59 BF 2C
1000002   D7 0D 3E 59 32 18

Nothing obvious, except the middle 3E 59's, so maybe it's only a 4-byte code.

Any ideas on how to crack this?
