Hello All,
I was wondering what components I would need and how I would go about building a computer system that takes information from external sensors. For sake of example lets say I wanted to create some kind of graphical thermal representation of my room that updates continuously in real time. Lets say I littered my room with 50 digital thermometers...how do I go about getting that information into a computer (are there like sensors with usb ports or some such), and how do I go about rendering that information as an image (red is hot, blue is cool, etc). I know this is a broad question, but I know this sort of thing must get done in a variety of fields. I tried googling but couldn't find much. I would appreciate any help you can offer me, even if its just the proper industry buzz phrases so that I can look everything up. Thanks.
