Mouse pointer freezes for while and then works...

Hello i am ahsan;
 
i am having problems with my system.
i am using windows Xp professional.... from last week i was facing some serious problem with my pc...when windows load all its aceesories and some programs which are displayed in taskbar..it takes too long as i am connected to LAN.... and when i to double click any icon or file to open it.. the mouse pointer freezes for while and stops working and then works and the programs load very slowly.. sometimes this problem ouerhault my system and everything stops working ... mouse and keyborad stops responding and the only solution i got to retart it.. but after restart sometimes hardisk stops to respond but when i completey shutdown my pc for a long itme and again starts it works fien for sometimes..

So can any1 help me... coz i am facing problem which stops my works...
can any1 tell me whether is there any problem in my PC components like motherborad , porcessor, hardisk or others. or i am having problem with my windows.

my system configuration is  Intel Celeron 1.7 Ghz pentium 4 processor with intel d845GLLy motherboad and with 128 kingston ram.....
