I have a client that would like to use a LinkSys router for their home network. Currenlty they are using one PC using AOL Broadband (Time Warner RR). When I setup the PC to work with the router, and the router in turn is connected to the Cable modem, the linksys web status screen shows everything as normal. But the client can't ping anything past the cable modem. AOL 9.0 doesn't work as it claims it can't find the Cable modem.
So I remove the router from the mix, plug the PC directly into the cabel modem, release/renew, but I still can't ping anyting past the cable modem. However, AOL 9.0 finds the modem and works.
This is crap. does this mean a customer with AOL and Broadband (time warmer Roadrunner) has to use the AOL interface to connect to the internet? Is there anyway to get the LinkSys Router to work in this enviroment? They have a plan to add one more PC to the network, and hook up PS2.
