I am a bit skeptical about the ability to transfer TV streams through a standard 100MHz Ethernet network. The problem lies in the bandwidth. The more streaming connections you would make the more choked up your streams would be. Video demands a very high bandwidth to begin with for fullscreen full resolution. In addition it will compete with any internet browsing or file transfer anybody is attempting on the network at the same time. Overload of the bandwidth would cause droppout and broken images (big chunky blocks).
I am curious to get feedback from you here if you do attempt SnapStream or similar solution. My prediction is it will choke your transfer, but I may be wrong. If it does you will most liekly need a Giga Ethernet (all Giga compatible wiring, routers, switches) be put in place and that becomes expenssive, you would have to re-consider if this solution is worth the investement. You also may need a rather strong machine to serve as the server.
Best of luck!
