The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

homepage still not fixed

Asked by armydog in Miscellaneous

to all
recently i submitted a question concerning the constant change of my homepage even after i set the location in internet optipns.
member petelong recommended this site for a fix...http://www.petnetlive.com/Tech/browsers/hijack.htm....it was a download for ad-aware which i downloaded and ran , it apparently cured the problem and i awarded him the points submitted for the question.
it seems i jumped the gun the problem is still occuring and i stated that in the comments of my original submission.
i was still being offered help even yhough the points were already awarded.
member rsdn recommended this site for a cure,
http://www.mac-net.com/296485.page...
everthing described here fits the problem my pc has but i can't seem to get the procedure to work.
information has stopped flowing concerning a solution so i'm resubmitting with more points hoping to get help.

the following is my last comment in the original post.

i'm using a 98 os
when i go to rsdn's suggested fix i think the procedure is based on a newer os...
for instance is the task manager the same as the close program pop-up i get when i hit
cont. alt. del. ......the only suspicious programs i see when i do this are Winproc32 and deinst_qfe002 both are application files but what do i put in front of .exe to deregister...also wish someone would explain to me the procedure...
Remove Run - "helper" key from registry.

hope i can get more suggestions...thanx
