XP.  Right click does not work on any files or folders.  However, works inside Internet explorer.

I am going to reboot now.

russelr124234,

If nothing has worked so far, try going to network connections in control panel
right-click on the network connection that you use say (LAN connection)
in the general tab, check file and printer sharing  and uninstall it

reboot the machine and check how it goes

u can try unplugging the mouse and plug it back in.

sunray.... "right-click on the network connection that you use say (LAN connection)"
his right click isn't working.

there's a key that does the same thing as right click, its the one that looks like a notebad to the left of the control key. (right of the spacebar)

or if that right-click button is not available in ur keyboard ,
select "LAN connection"or whichever connection (just one LEFT-click on that icon)
go to file ---> properties and you should get that dialog box

are you on a domain by any chance?

Group profiles can disable the use of the right click.  I know in my area we disable all of our low-level users' right clicks.

I agree with SheharyaarSaahil, see if it works in safe mode.
Also, what about the "rightclick" button on the keyboard (not on all keyboards), but if it's there its usually between the right wndows key and the right ctrl key.

Context menus are peculiar to the progam that you are working in. In this case, the program appears to be Windows Explorer, so I would suspect a corrupted system file. Try running SFC /SCANNOW. If that fails, then a System Restore may be in order, as there may be corrupt reg files at play as well.
