The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to disable FrontPage

Asked by smitty0012 in Miscellaneous

Hello,
I work for a small company as a web designer and programmer. I'm good at it. I prefer to use notepad and mspaint for all my needs. My problem is that my micromanaging boss keeps installing frontpage and editing my stuff. He has deleted everything (all my work) three times now, and he frequently makes minor changes to my webpage - adding a space after an image so the image is slightly more to the left. He keeps saving my pages and adding crap to them so that I am constantly having to redo the same work over and over. He is also the president of the company so it is difficult to talk to him about why he should not do these things. His latest offense has been to install Office Server Extenstion, which took down our sql server database. The data is still there but I can't access most of the features: Enterprise Manager, etc. Because he doesn't uses these features, he doesn't get the error message, he doesn't consider it a problem. I could give you pages and pages of stupid things he does which meddle in my work, everything from dictating database field names (although he did not design the database and does not understand databases in general) to forcing me to complete certain (visible) components of a program before other compontents are created (non-visible classes, file structures, etc). Basically I am working for a moron that demands to be involved with everything I do although he does not understand what he is doing and refuses to allow me to teach him. I cannot use security access to lock him out of the webpage directories. Because he is the president of the company he demands that he logs in with full domain administrator access, although he does not need it.

I would really like somthing that would disable front page from destroying my work. Maybe something that detects when frontpage is installed and pops up with an error message. Or maybe a dll file that conflicts with frontpage. Anything!!
