Problem with connecting to the Internet

Hi All,

I have a little bit of a problem, thus being, that i have a pc here running Windows 2000 Pro, SP2, now the customer in question went to go upgraded to Service Pack 4 which resulted in BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH, and the only way i was able to get it up and running again, was to do the <R>epair option within Windows Set-up, which went fine, except for a couple of things like the fax & scanner drivers for the connected Canon Multifunction Centre MP730, which was an easy fix, but I'm having problems getting connected to the Web, now when i go to set-up a connection through Control Panel/Internet Options/Connections TAB, i get the following error msg:

Cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager service.
Error 711: The Remote Access Connection Manager could not start. blah blah...

Now I went to Computer Management Console, and went to the Services area, and when I've attempted to start the services I get the following msg/s:

Could not start the Remote Access Auto Connection Manager service on Local Computer
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start

&

Could not start the Remote Access Connection Manager service on Local Computer.
Error 5: Access is denied

Now I've tried running WINSOCKFIX.EXE, without luck, another thing I noticed was when I logged in as the user (with admin rights) or even administrator, and go to look at Device Manager Settings, i get an error msg saying I don't have sufficient privileges...blah...blah...blah, Just thought I would mention that just in case it's relative to my question...
