C:\Program Files\Apoint2k\Apntex.exe appears automatically when booting up in xp.

Hello war1,

When I boot into xp a file(C:\Program Files\Apoint2k\Apntex.exe) starts running automatically in my taskbar.  Now if I click on the file's tab in the taskbar the screen goes completely blank(Not a blue screen of death). When I reboot the file is again running in the taskbar.  When I open task manager the file is shown as a running Application.  When I googled it appears this file is my device driver for my mouse.  Now I can close it out of the taskbar or Task Manager with no problems.  It appears this is an important file and that it should be running in the background.  Any ideals on how to keep it from opening up in my taskbar on boot up.  I checked the start-up menu and it is not in there.

Thanks for being there.
