Remote Desktop Help Needed

I set up my remote desktop on my home computer about 3 weeks ago.  I did the port forwarding just like I was suppose to and everything worked great for about 2- 21/2 weeks.  I came home one Sunday and their was a message saying someone wanted to access my computer and would I let them.  I said no because I hadn't tried to log on use RD in 2 days.  Now, I can't get it to work. I am running windows xp pro on this computer.
