G'day Experts
I am endeavouring to convert some favourite old VHS tapes to DVD. I have been using Roxio EasyMedia Creator 7 and have been able to complete several projects. The issue I have with this program is that it seems very large and not very friendly when working on longer tapes. It will only allow approx 1 hr of download from my vid-player and then after I have sorted the project and am ready to burn to disc it uses a format that allows about 60 minutes per disc (single layer discs) but no compression for longer/ larger files. I have been able to copy full length movies from dual layer discs using DVD Shrink but because of the format used by Roxio this does not seem possible.
I have a copy of Premiere Elements 2 but have not used it yet (seems a bit complex!).
Can somebody suggest a simple to use program that will allow me to capture the signal from my vid player and convert it to a format that will allow me to edit/burn it to dvd disc? (I have been converting LP records to CD for years using Cooledit2000 and I find that easy to use. There should be a video version of that.)
