The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Iomega Zip 750 not working

Win XP PC was reinstalled with XP from scratch. 750mb ZIP not working. Realized that the Iomega ware was not installed.
Downloaded and installed. Same prob as before using iomegaware. Opened the drive without disk in it. Message "Insert disk", inserted disk. Did an open to see what was on disk. The disk was accessing before I opened it and when I opened it via My Computer it made My Computer go to "Not responding" had to use Task mgr to end it. I also realized that I needed to remove the Zip drive via control panel, un hook power and USB, then install Iomega ware, shutdown, connect power and usb, powerup to find the new hardware. The drive is still jerking around and hanging when attempting to reda it. I also have the same prob when trying to format the disk. I am getting more 750MB disks soon to see if the media is bad.
I have seen a similare prob on experts exchange where the guy was using a 100MB on a 750MB drive, which will not work, however the text from the gut said he opened the properties on the Zip drive and there was a tab labeled IOMEGA. I do not have that tab if it makes any difference.
