Removing AOL from laptop

Asked by Dubs in Miscellaneous

Hi all,

i was bought a laptop and the first thing i did was spend a few hours getting rid of all the rubbish that came with it, customizing windows and freeing up space.

one problem- i get an aol dsg demo flash up everytime i log on (clicking the 'don't show demo again' button- unsuprisingly for an aol product does nothing) this, apart from being completely undesired (aol would be my very last choice of ISP) is slowing my machine down.

so, 'remove it' you say...

i wish i could, it simply doesn't appear in the add/remove programs and doesn't appear in the start up programs...

therefore i need a way of removing it completely- without a full reformat... im happy to go into the registry or deep parts of windows and have done this before but nede to know what im looking for... ancedotes on the web have said that aol software can be notoriously hard to  remove completely but im annoyed enough by it to try.

therefore anyone know of how i can do this if it doesn't appear in add/remove programs?

im on xp btw...
