Can't type when using IE

I was trying to help a friend with his computer.  It seems that whenever you are using IE it won't let you type in a search box?  I just loaded Symantec, updated it and ran a virus scan, I also loaded Adaware and ran that and Spybot.  I either quarantined or deleted all files that came up on these.  The computer also has Netscape and that seemed to be working, but now it crashes when I try to open it.  In addition I cannot seem to enable the Symantec so it runs on the Auto Protect setting? Below is the most current Hijack this file.  I'm sure it is a virus of some kind, but nothing I try seems to work.  Since it isn't my computer I am not familiar with all of the software so I don't want to delete anything from Hijack this without knowing what it is.  Any advice is appreciated.
