asked on

can I connect my xbox 360 to my pc via a tv tuner card?

Hello Experts:

I have a brand new Windows Vista Ultimate with Windows Media Center installed that lets me watch tv.

I want to connect my xbox 360 to my tv tuner card that has all the right holes for the plugs (red, white and yellow). I connected them just like I did on my old regular tv but nothing happens. I can't tell where to go to see my xbox 360. Any ideas?

Thanks.

FG!

Nelsoncomputer:

THANKS MUCH for answering. How do I set my TV card's input?

Much appreciated.

FG!
It depends on the brand and software used, but do a quick search on Google with your brand and 'setting input' and I'm sure it will be found, or leave your TV card manufacturer here, and I'll see what I can find.
I went to

Computer > Devices > Sound, video and game controllers

and saw

AVerMedia M780 PCIe NTSC/ATSC Combo Desktop TV Tuner (Bridge)
AVerMedia M780 PCIe NTSC/ATSC Combo Desktop TV Tuner (Tuner)
AVerMedia M780 PCIe NTSC/ATSC Combo Desktop TV Tuner (Video Capture)
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC

Thanks for commenting on this question. The reason I haven't "accepted a solution" is because my Xbox 360 has been borrowed and I haven't been able to test the solutions to adequately judge. I will be getting it back in a couple of weeks. I don't know if you can keep the question open for so long though. As the administrator, I leave the decision up to you.

Thanks.

After reviewing the question, I've realized that you were not wanting to share data. You can get an adapter for your video card that will allow you to use A/V connections. If you have an ATi, one should included, and is normally purple.
