My male dog has morning sickness

my dog has been getting sick in the middle of the night and early mornings.  he'll wake up, dry heave a couple of times, and then go back to sleep.... or he will get up in the morning and dry heave a few times.

this only happens when he has an empty stomach.  he's not getting sick after he eats.  in fact, last weekend i didn't feed him until 10am...and he dry heaved several times before breakfast.  once he ate, he stopped having the sickness issue.

he is a 10month old shepherd/husky mix.

any ideas on why he seems to be getting sick on an empty stomach?Start Free Trial
