The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Help name my application ?!

Hi all,

My team & I have just finished developing a 500+ user application to be distributed to our various sites throught the UK. I need to come up with a name for the app but I'm struggling due to it's many varied purposes. I'd like to stick to something anagrammatic if possible.

The tool has two interfaces, one for staff, and one for department managers. The staff use it to realtime capture each part of their day into productive time catagories. They clock out for lunch etc. and because they're on flexible working, they will use it to keep track of their start & finish times so as to keep to a net zero balance over the course of a month. They can use it to request time off and they can keep track of their holiday & flexible time allowances etc.

The manager tool pulls all of this data together for planning purposes, and the manager also records & authorises all ASH (absence, sickness, holiday). The manager can set rules for their team ensuring capacity at peak times etc. The manager can also see reports on the productive time data and assess performance.

The tool is due to be used in two of our business areas ("Claims", and "Broker"), but with the possibility of more rollouts throughout the year.

Finally, the backend is SQL with pre-compiled stored procedures, and the front-end is (wait for it), Excel 97, but with a further front end in XML.

Please help!!
