The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to deal with a difficult landlady?

Asked by nickg5 in Miscellaneous

[Note: previous title was "how to deal with a Christian who does hateful things?"  Changed with consent of Asker - WaterStreet]

I am disabled and on limited income. I am single, never married, having lived in the 1969 mobile home I own and located in a small park owned by the land lady. I've lived here since 2001 and I may be the only person in here who has not had a single visitor-guest over night. This Christian land lady told me the other day that I could apply to host a foreign student for a semester and then the next day called back and told me that the answer was no, since it violated her lease. Her lease does not allow overnight guest for extended periods and extended means a few days. She claims to have never lost a law suit.
I have personally bought and sold 4 mobile homes in the park. So, I know how she manipulates the applicants to get who she wants in each mobile home. Her ideal goal would be for there to be one person in each home, due to the high water bills, She refuses to allow blacks, asians, or latinos, or couples who are not marired, people with young children, singles with more than one child, etc., she has evicted some unmarried couples and even ask to see marriage licenses. No girl friends for men and no male friends for females. You can have them but they can not stay over night. I can name 4-5 other residents who are violating her lease and she allows it. She says it is her business, all this discrimination. She has evicted homesexuals and unmarried couples and stated that two residents that died got what they deseved from the Lord for doing her bad. One of those women did nothing wrong and the other one sued her over an accident involving a tree trimming that almost killed the woman. She later died of leukemia. She tries to force her religion on everyone here. One evictee called her a female hitler. I am looking to be a parent thru adoption, foster care, or surrogacy and she said "she would have to think about it" as to whether MY legal child can live in MY home, when other residents have children and grandchildren who visit and sleep over all the time and some of the kids live here. As I look at the eviction papers you can evict someone as an "undesirable tenant" I asume if I took her to court over my child she would evict me that way. I can not afford to move and forced to live in this situation. She always says "if I let you do it everyone else will want to do it" and that is not true. The others do not care and should not care and it is all in her mind. She will tell you she got complaints about this or that when in fact it is only herself repeating to herself over time that somebody is doing something wrong. She is age 64 I think, and I see her death as the only solution which could be a long wait. She is in good health. Or she decides to sell the place or move out due to her health and I have offered to buy her mobile home if she ever needed to sell it. She says her lease is legal and can not be challenged successfully in court.
The limit on cars per lot is 2, one lot has 4, 3 adults are not allowed but one home has three adults. I do not even think the couple are married and would bet they are not. Another tenant has a son who lives with her during summer vacation and Christmas. Another tenant has two kids who visit 3 days a week, overnight. Another tenant is a couple with an infant, She is obsessed with the water bill even though we all pay $13 per person to help out. Her lease mentions 50 cent fee per night on visitors. I offered 50 cents a day and $13 a month for the water bill for my being able to host the student for a semester.  I told her a foreign exchange student is not a copy cat type thing and she should not worry about other people complaining and wanting to do the same thing. She is afraid of a lawsuit. She invites lawsuits but she just does not like to have to pay a lawyer and the stress of the whole thing. But, she dares a suit. She is controlling the lives of people in here.
