Need help finding historical stock quotes for company whose ticker was closed in 2007, then reassigned to a completely unrelated company in 2008.
This effectively made the original company disappear from the "historical" databases. The only thing listed is the new company (with no data) and links to the SEC filings for the old company.
Tried all of the publicly available "historical" searches, including Morningstar, NASDAQ, and Google's beta finance. Apparently, these are truly historical. If the symbol was reassigned, the data has been purged.
Wall Stree Journal does not have an archive available that I can find. I'd like to look up the quote to find closing price on an exact day so I can figure FMV for a stock that was force-liquidated by acquisition. The acquiring company of the old stock is not traded or selling shares, so they have no investment department to track data or field requests for information.
Anyone know of a real historical source?
