Yeah, I found the link to some documentation in Lithuanian - unless you can point me to a decent online Lithuanian translator, I don't think I can read it...

I'm not doing the work here - that's why this is worth 250 pts, instead of zero. I appreciate the efforts, but I'm quite aware of how to go to ebay and nag people there, or email manufacturers.

" Easy pts to the expert who can find a link to a manual"
link = URL. I require one.

what you want may not exist.
Here is a replacement manual from the Bottom Line website.

nick - thanks for sticking with me after the grouchy post. I found that link too - I guess since I didn't say "free" when I was specifying conditions for the manual, I'll award pts to you if no one else chimes in after a while, but I was hoping to avoid paying for it.
I'm thinking the way I'm really going to figure out how this thing works is to take out my tiny 14' boat on the lake and do some experiments with some bobbers and lures (it went straight from 60 degree weather to 90 degree weather here in less than a week - ouch!)
I did manage to find exactly one picture of the Fishin Buddy II screen while some guy was using it - additional images would certainly help, if no instructions can be found.
Thanks again,
-Jon
Well, the annoying open-question robots have been hassling me about closing this - the best guide I have found so far is the manual for the newer version of the fish finder I already have - there are a lot of extra features, but enough similarities to at least get some vague idea of what's going on.
The biggest lesson I have learned so far is that even if you have a fish finder, you still have to know how to fish - I've had the screen amazingly full of fish readings/echos and still managed to go home empty handed. I'm pretty sure the readings were not entirely false, since I was reading them when the lake (1 hour after sunset) was pretty much empty of all other sources of sonar noise (other boats, their wakes, and people).
The good news is that the boat fired up and ran beautifully on its maiden voyage this year - It's kind of sad being really pumped about my underpowered tiny 14-foot fiberglass junker, but a janky boat is better than no boat. If anyone is ever in central Illinois and sees a really crappy blue and silver boat with the bat-symbol on the hood, feel free to say hi to The--Captain ;-)
So, I'm pretty much feeling like splitting pts to those who at least tried to help - majority to Nick (and an A for effort) if no one objects.
Arrrgh!
