I need some suggestions for new comparisons I can put up on
http://mymindblewup.com. Feel free to brainstorm. Try to take the concept into new directions if you can. Just go nuts with it.
You don't need to give me all the details, just give me specific comparisons and if I like them I'll generalize them myself and figure out the math and so on.
COMPARISONS I HAVE:
- compare the height between two objects (how many cows does it take to stack from the Earth to the Moon)
- compare the width of multiple objects
- given an amount of one object, compare it to another object with the closest matching mass
- given a rain destination and an object to rain and an amount of objects to rain, calculate how deep in rain you would be on the rain destination (1000000 cows rained on Earth result in 0.0000000021 meters of cow rain)
- compare the mass of one object to the mass of another object and find out how many of the second objects would be required to match the first object's mass. (it takes 263,386,243,386,243,386,24
3.39 Diplodicus dinosaurs to match the mass of the Earth).
- How long would a given animal travel if it spent it's entire existence travelling a certain speed? (a cow would travel 170,407,400.4 km if it travelled 100 kPH its entire life.)
- How fast would something need to travel in order for time dilation to get them to a party on time at a certain date while only aging a certain amount of time?
EXAMPLES OF NEW COMPARISON IDEAS:
- How many years would be required in order for an Atlantic Ocean's worth of Coca Cola to be drunk? (given current rate of consumption)
- If you poured out one drop of water on the ground for every dollar in the US debt, how big would that puddle be compared with the Pacific Ocean?
- If I were to crush a chicken into a cube, how high would a 4 sided pyramid be if I were to stack up 1 million of those chicken cubes?
- If every email on earth was a standard size envelope, how big would that pile of mail be in one month and how much mass would it have?
- How many World of Warcraft gold pieces would be required to buy a house in downtown San Francisco? (at the current rate charged by gold sellers)
- Every time a person hits a web page some information is sent to the web server and back. If that information was instead transferred by plane, how much fuel would be burned up in order to handle one hour of web traffic?
