I don't see the effect for Pinnacle Studio 12 product. I want to be able to zoom in on him and spotlight him so you can tell it is him on the field.
I have been researching numerous other hardware (videonics) and software editing applications but don't see anything that says it can actually edit/overlay the video with effects (zoom and spotlighting).
Thanks for any help or suggestions,

I'm not too sure about how pinnacle studio 12 is like, but I was using their Liquid edition 6 some years ago, try to see if you can open the effects editor, and in there should be some options for you to change the size of the video you are editing. You should also be able to keyframe the size and position effects to look like you are zooming in and out.
As for 'spotlighting', there might be a keying editor that comes with studio 12. The easy way is to use 2 different layers of the same clip for this, crop out the top layer using the keying editor with the focus on your subject, while darkening the bottom layer.
I would not recommend zooming in too much though in post editing, as this will reduce the video quality.
I am currently using Adobe Premiere Pro and Premiere Pro CS3 which makes it much easier to handle effects like these.
