Do big merchants have to pay transaction fees on credit card processing or do they get a flat rate?
I know in my small business, I have to pay a processing fee / % of the transaction to a credit card processor to be able to accept credit cards.
Do big companies have those similar (albeit, smaller / per transaction) fees?
Any idea what they are? For the big companies (verizon wireless specifically), is it still 10 - 20c / transaction? Or because of their size it's fractions of a penny?
Reason I am asking is I have a gripe with Verizon wireless. In protest, I am paying my $700 bill in $1. payments - I am hoping that most of that $1 is eaten up in transaction fees.
