It sounds more like a Yahoo thing, though.  Are you logged into Yahoo?

go to your yahoo account info and set your age to 19 or something. Also, try to see if you can send an email to yahoo and do some sort of age confirmation thing, usually with the aid of a credit card.

Do you have any troubles on other PC's?  Did you try the "obvious" steps - delete temp internet files, etc...?

    by: jonnyz0109Posted on 2003-07-04 at 08:28:39ID: 8857155

A second thought - does the same happen with both IE and Netscape?  Try downloading a third browser (like opera) and see if it is system-wide or is just happening with that specific browser.

    >> Both of my browser (IE and AOL) cant get through...
IE and AOL are basically the same browser.  I recommend at least downloading opera or netscape and trying to access with either of those.

Can't i just alter my setting? Instead of downloading?

    by: jonnyz0109Posted on 2003-07-05 at 07:13:29ID: 8860365

If it were a problem with your IE Install (like, if it's corrupt) no setting that you can change will fix your problem.  Are you on dial-up?  If not netscape is a 10-minute download/install, test it out, and uninstall it again.  Opera is even smaller if I remember correctly.

There are 3 possibilities that come to my mind regarding internet connection troubles:
    1)  Global - the whole network has the problem
    2)  System - The whole computer has the problem (i.e. it happens in Netscape AND IE/AOL)
    3)  Local - happens only with a browser (ONLY IE/AOL)

I believe we have established that the first point is not occuring here, as you can connect other computers without a problem.  So following that, I'm not really sure how to help until I know whether it's a local or system problem.

To add to previous comment, if there is a setting that is to blame for your problem, I don't know about it, and no other experts have posted it here.  Also, a settings change would impact one single browser.  If that is in fact the problem, and there was a setting messed up in IE, in theory everything should work OK in netscape.  This is why I asked for you to try another browser.

If you don't like the big downloads, try mozilla.  I just downloaded it today, all the other experts rant and rave over it, although I am far more fond of the eye-candy that netscape and opera offer...  Anyway, the download is very small and easy, and doesn't install any software that you don't want in your PC (as netscape has a habit of doing so).

During my time working doing telephone support for an Internet Shopping service I encountered many AOL users receiving old content from AOL proxys. For example we had a notice on the site advisng it was temporarily down for maintainence - some AOL users received this page for 4 days after the site came back up!  Also many AOL usres would see old adverts which had been removed from the site.

    Try another ISP.
